spiritual  improvement

Man feels a need to develop spiritually. He yearns for further knowledge, for acquiring better attitudes with which to approach his fellow man. He wishes to activate his abilities in a more efficient, wise and proper way and feels a sense of satisfaction when he succeeds to improve those domains that are important to him.

We may distinguish between two types of process:

1.                  Spiritual self developing a capacity, which seemingly did not exist in human.

2.                 Spiritual self improving a familiar capability and its use.

These developments and improvements take place by means of learning and experience. This website will use the term "improve" to both of these types.

These processes also contribute to enhancing several other capacities, including self-healing, getting rid of undesirable habits, more efficient learning, memory improvement, and more.

Psychological literature offers many texts dealing with these processes. Those wishing for further details will certainly find their wish.

Every such process is carried out along two paths.

Natural spiritual self improvement

Man is, by nature, in continual pursuit of achieving goals. The positive feedback that success provides, encourages him to repeat his actions in an improved manner. It could therefore be said, that man is in a continual process of self learning and of self improving. This process can develop negative qualities as well as positive ones.

Controlled spiritual self improvement

This is a planned process, and occurs in our mind alone. It achieves superior results in a shorter time-span and with fewer errors than the natural unplanned and uncontrolled process. The odds of success are higher too. This process also constructs a firm basis on which natural self improvement can be build.

In principle, this improvement comes into being when positive pictorial content is displayed to the mind several times, in (α) Alpha state . Achieving this progress is possible, since one's mind cannot differentiate between real experiences and imaginary ones, because in every case the mind receives mentally generated images.

The controlled process of spiritual self improvement uses the following means:

·         The alpha state

·         Imagination.

·         The primary forces of encouragement - desire, belief and expectation.

·         Other forces that encourage man, which will be elucidated later in this book.

Recollection

Recollection is a part of the controlled process. It is not sufficient to cultivate or improve a particular capacity, or even to turn it into a habit .In order to maintain and even enhance the expression of human's spiritual capacities over an extended period of time, a process of recollection is necessary.

The greatest discovery of our generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind. As you think,so shall you be.
William James

Once we accept our limits, we go beyond them.
Albert Einstein

It is surprising what a man can do when he has to, and how little most men will do when they don't have to
Walter Linn

Whatever we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become a reality.
Earl Nightingale

Desire is the starting point of all achievement, not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything.
Napoleon Hill

The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.
Albert Einstein

Imagination is more important than knowledge. For while knowledge defines all we currently know and understand, imagination points to all we might yet discover and create.
Albert Einstein
