Spiritual guidance

The common mind- as a main source of furnishing man with creative ideas

Many great thinkers of all time have believed that the information stored in our minds is not limited to our memories of past experiences and learned facts. “Human beings share a common mind”, said Emerson, who described our minds as entrances to an infinite cosmic mind, which any of us may access in order to retrieve information and obtain creative ideas. Dr. J. B. Rhine, the head of the parapsychology laboratory at Duke University, experimentally proved that man has access to knowledge and ideas beyond his personal stored information. Professor R. H. Thouless of Cambridge University testifies this phenomenon should be regarded as a  truth, similarly to any scientifically proven truth.

We shall refer to this type of information as "universal knowledge" or "spiritual knowledge" or spiritual guidance and refer to these channels of information as "the spiritual channels".

The philosophical proof regarding the source of this Spiritual guidance and concerning the relation between God and man

If we hold that there exists an infinite intelligence behind the universe’s creation and development – mankind included, then it is logical to suppose that this intelligence  established a connection between himself and the imperfect but positive creation known as man. In order to transmit to him, as needs be, important knowledge crucial to his well-being,  at any level of sophistication, should he only request it, apparently through the very same spiritual channels and universal mind of which we speak.

This philosophical proof brings me to the conclusion that it is possible to accept the feasibility of personal revelations of God to man in general, and their biblical appearances in particular.

Assuming the information received from the aforementioned spiritual source signifies true knowledge, and there is evidence that this is so, would it not be also true to say that one of our chief roles should be to cultivate and activate this system? The answer is self-evident.

Every source of mystical or religious information, any folklore legend, may contain knowledge derived from this wondrous source. It is therefore recommended that we examine such sources, in order to locate within them this invaluable message, which is granted to humanity from time to time – a message that humanity is so badly in need of. A message that in some cases may be called a Divine message.

Receiving Spiritual guidance from common mind for creative activity.

When we intend to look for  a solution to a problem, we subconsciously suppose the answer exists someplace – otherwise we would not be seeking it. This intent is among the approaches, which activates the creative system in its quest for the information we desire. The answer frequently rises to our consciousness at an unexpected moment, for example, when we are occupied in a relaxing activity or when we rest in a relaxing atmosphere, or when we wake from sleep or take a walk. Suddenly, there appears in our consciousness a sort of spark and we immediately "recognize" the requested solution. Many of us have surely experienced this phenomenon.

Just as there are tools that accelerate the receiving of Spiritual guidance, there are other tools, which slow down or even arrest the process. A critical attitude towards such information or a simple rejection of it, are what usually cause a slowing down of this process. Our degree of success in receiving such information is usually proportional to our degree of interest in receiving it, to the extent of our need and to the openness of our spiritual channels.

Thomas Edison, the renowned inventor, said that when he required a creative idea, he would free himself from any feeling of pressure and of responsibility saying that ideas are in the air and if he will not get them someone else will.
The great composer, Schubert, claimed that his own creative process of composing consisted in "remembering a melody", which he had never heard.
Bertrand Russel
, the philosopher, claimed his method for coming up with creative ideas and solutions was to deeply concentrate on them, commanding his unconscious to do what is required for arriving at the answers. He would then move to a different topic. When he would return to the subject some time later, the required creative ideas would already be at hand.

I, myself have passed through the entire process involved in receiving ideas, as described here. Today I come up with creative ideas and solutions for my queries upon waking up in the morning, or while  walking in solitude and enjoying nature around me.

The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift

It is surprising what a man can do when he has to, and how little most men will do when they don't have to
